The Background:
I just returned from a trip to the Grand Canyon last week, however, that destination was not my original plan. I had been planning a trip to Yosemite for months, but the night before the trip I realized that a major rainstorm was about to hit California and the drive up to Yosemite might not be safe. Early the next morning, I decided to head East to the Grand Canyon instead. It was challenging to pivot at the last minute, but the trip turned out to be an amazing experience with lots of great scenes to capture.
The Message:
It was not easy for me to make that last minute adjustment to my plans. I am someone that likes to know what to expect and spends a large amount of time plotting out the details of my trips to ensure a smooth experience. In short, I like to be in control. Having to shift my plans and expectations at the last minute and head in a different direction (literally) with almost no planning or itinerary was definitely a little uncomfortable. I had to accept that I was not in control and to recognize that G-d was leading the way. Once I was able to come to terms with the fact that I was not in the driver’s seat, I could appreciate the unexpected and amazing experience of the Grand Canyon. It was truly a memorable trip and I hope to share many more pictures with all of you in the future. While I had to struggle with the change in plans, it was clear that G-d had a completely different trip planned for me all along…
