From the Fire
I normally don’t have a message in mind as I take a photograph. I typically review shots that I have taken in the past and pick my favorites – then try and identify a message that speaks to me that may relate to the content or the context of the photo. However, in this case, I came across these blackened and burnt-out trees surrounded by the most bright and beautiful yellow flowers and stopped to take the picture because of the clear message that I saw in the scene.
Our toughest and darkest moments can often bring forth the most positive and beautiful results. Often, we have a particular expectation or outcome we are driving towards and when things don’t work out as planned, it can be a dark time. However, when we look back, we can sometimes see that the actual outcome was exactly what we needed. Those challenges or struggles may have laid the groundwork for new growth and greater accomplishments. Though it can be difficult to see it in the moment, we should always remind ourselves that G-d is guiding our steps and everything that happens to us is ultimately for our best.
